I choose to do Faux Watercoloring, but was so happy at how my ink blending looked that I didn’t want to do much watercoloring on it. I did a little on each rose but opted to keep it subtle.

I started with Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# card stock, prepped it with an antistatic tool, stamped the Altenew’s Paint-A-Flower Rose and accompanying sentiment with VersaMark. I used Judi Kins Embossing Powder Iridescent Sparkle for just a hint of sparkle. I then used Altenew Crisp Dye Inks with Altenew blending brushes to do my ink blending. The colors are Lavender Fields, Ocean Waves, Sweet Leaf and Fresh Lemon. After this I smudged four more colors of Altenew Crisp Dye Inks on my glass surface, sprayed both the paper and each smudge of ink, effectively turning the ink into watercolor paint. I used this to gently add darker versions of “paint” to the roses. For this part I used Deep Iris, Ultramarine, Just Green and Mango Smoothie. I absolutely love the amazing variety of beautiful inks Altenew has! I finished up by splattering the piece with the “watercolor paint” I had made using the inks. I let this dry overnight, added a few Nuvo Drops Crystal Glaze, mounted it on some light blue craft foam, then onto a card base I’d made from Gina K Designs Heavy Base Weight Wild Lilac. I then decided to heat emboss the envelope with the same stamp as on the card, but now using Stampendous Embossing Powder Detail White. I love decorating envelopes, as the recipient always appreciates that finishing touch!
