The first thing I must mention about this course is how skilled Nicole Picadura is with a stamp on an acrylic block! She quickly lines it up and stamps flawlessly every time! I’m so impressed with her! She made it look so simple and I felt hopeful I could do this technique well.
For my card I used Altenew’s Peony Bouquet stamp set. I love that it has a budding flower with it’s sepals and stem attached. I’ve used this particular stamp on several cards. I also used a leaves stamp and a branch, leaves and buds/berries stamp from this set. I tried to “Stamp it like Nicole” (think “Bend it like Beckham”), without success. My solution was to use Inkadinkado’s Stamp-a-ma-jig so I would be able to quickly and accurately double or triple stamp as necessary. To layer the colors I used the following Altenew Crisp Dye Inks: Pink Diamond; Cotton Candy; Coral Berry and Ruby Red.
Later I used the Altenew Apothecary Labels Nesting Die Set to cut some cardstock I had inked with Altenew Crisp Dye Ink in Polar Bear. I cut three of these. Using Altenew Crisp Dye Ink in Ultramarine, I stamped the sentiment from the Apothecary Labels Stamp set, then again with VersaMark ink and sprinkled clear embossing powder on this and heat set it.
Finally, I adhered the three layers of cardstock together with craft glue to make a stack for added dimension, adhered this to the card front and then adhered this to the card base (Bubble Gum Pink from Gina K Designs). I love the simplicity of this design!
This turned out so pretty, Leslie!! Maybe it is the pink, black, and white combo but it looks exceptionally pretty!
Thank you for submitting your wonderful work to the AECP assignment gallery.
